Adair Leadership Australia has a commitment to the development of knowledge and understanding about the phenomenon of leadership and followship.
That commitment is aligned not only to the expansion of ideas based upon the Adair Model and the ACL Paradigm, but also to the general interest in all leader related concepts. ALAust decision-making about research is open to the ideas of its individual and corporate supporters. Priorities herein listed are to be opened to influence and to change.
Two mainstream areas for research that the principals would propose to any prioritization of individual research topics are:
Consolidation of existing ideas about leadership.
For every Leadership expert, there's a leadership theory. Some say new Leaders have plenty of leadership models from which to choose. But existing theories, models and concepts are so bountiful they need consolidating and organising, if leadership studies are to be most beneficial.
Leadership in Negative Environments
Leadership studies typically focus on situations where there is a performance issue. Organisations face other types of problems requiring leadership, such as organisational bullying, ‘captured’ regulators, ‘rogue’ service providers and traders, firms struggling to survive, systemic corruption and post-corruption clean-outs.
